“Site5 is no longer a web host …At least not in the web hosting industry’s implicit definition of what a web host should be,” writes Kevin Hazard, Site5’s Director of Customer Service and hosting evangelist extreme. So what is Site5 then? Read on as we try to answer this age-old question …

Site5 was a relative unknown until a couple years ago when they repositioned themselves as the web host for a new generation of web developers and designers (if you don’t fall into this category you should probably look elsewhere). Their current rapid growth stems from a major shift in focus towards innovation and engineering coupled with a new website loaded with Web 2.0 terminology and exclusive brand names. (more…)

Well, apparently it’s not that simple.

Bluehost popped up on the radar a couple of years ago with an aggressive affiliate program promoting a single hosting plan at an excellent price. Of course iPowerWeb invented this business model a way back when. What’s interesting with Bluehost is that they’ve gone from zero to hosting over 100,000 domain names in just a couple of years. In terms of growth they’re one of the fastest growing hosts around. (more …)

Well after a brief disappearance from the world of web hosting I’m back with a whole bunch of cool new stuff. For starters you may have noticed that the entire site has been redesigned. Basically I switched from a pile of messy code to the neat and tidy WordPress platform for publishing, which is already making writing these posts way more fun. I’ve also been using Site5 and Bluehost for a couple of months now … reviews coming very soon. Also in the works is a Gate.com (formerly HostSave) review. Stay tuned.
